like i said, its not something i look foward to. i want to do something related to english literature or cinema. my clleagues tell me i know more about books and movies than equity research. i'm 29 - i dont think thats too old.

anyone think it would be a good idea to resign my job and go back to college? or i could do a distance education course in english literature (which is my major interest). yes, i'm THAT bored with my job and life. i'm asking you guys because you guys know me better than anyone else

From what I know of you, I think film school and movie critic are your life calling. You'll have to network like hell to get a good critic job, but once you do I think you'll love it.

Become a civil servant and let the state pay for your further education. I think you'd be great at it, no kidding.

dont think we have that kind of a provision here

I agree with what the other guys has told you mate. Follow your passion or stay miserable. You can use your job as a transition only if you are actually looking for something else at the same time. Otherwise you just sit in a job you hate and 'think about it'. A formulaic way to misery really.

dude, there is reservation for local marathis and minorities in mumbai government jobs. i could try jobs in my home state kerala but government jobs in india would be more soul crushing than the average office job, here in india.

Why don't you try to get an office job in a Bollywood productions company to get your foot into the door and see from there what your future options are.

never underestimate the power of pragmatism!
